Occupational therapists treat patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities, helping them improve their ability to perform activities necessary to daily life. While occupational therapists may work with patients recovering from illness or injury, other patients may have developmental or cognitive disabilities affecting their motor skills, emotions or behavior.
