‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ University Welcomes Two New Members to the Institutional Advancement Team

Longmeadow, MA — July 2025 — ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ University is pleased to announce two new members to its Office of Institutional Advancement: Maria Garwood has been appointed Associate Director for Donor Relations, and Hayley Jurek joins as Constituent Relations and Events Coordinator.

“We are thrilled to welcome Maria Garwood and Hayley Jurek to the Advancement team at ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ University,” said MK Young, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “They are collaborative, mission-driven professionals who will help us deepen our relationships with donors, alumni, and friends of the University in powerful ways.”

In her new role, Maria Garwood will lead ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ’s donor relations strategy and will be responsible for stewarding donors, developing donor communications and materials, strengthening fundraising through relationship-based outreach, and serving as a liaison to ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ’s Board of Trustees and related committees. Maria most recently served as Director of Development and Communications at Grace Academy in Hartford, Connecticut, where she raised more than $1.3 million annually and led a team of volunteers in organizing an annual fundraising event that generated over one-third of the school’s operating budget, consistently surpassing previous years' totals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and History, magna cum laude, from North Park University, and completed a study abroad program at the University of Bern in Switzerland focusing on sociology and political science.

Hayley Jurek will play a central role in campus and alumni engagement, and planning and executing events that foster connections among alumni, donors, and the broader ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ community. She will serve as the staff liaison to the Alumni Association Council, partner with various departments to integrate Advancement into campus culture, and collaborate with Marketing and Communications, ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ, and Career Services. Before joining ‎Â鶹ŮÀÉ, Hayley was a Research Recruitment and Outreach Specialist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she recruited participants for clinical trials. In addition to her experience in higher education, she is a small business owner and professional photographer. Hayley earned a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Media Communication, graduating summa cum laude.
